At a previous job, one of my co-workers was a fan of The Secret and thought it was useful. I watched the ‘documentary’/ad and felt the dishonesty underlying it.
I think positive thinking is powerful and valuable. However, the “Law of Attraction” skews this, and makes it appear we can just sit still and things will come to us like metal filings to a magnet. It ignores the value of work, and seeking opportunities. I believe that positive thinking makes it so that we have whatever we want on our mind, and then we’ll be more aware of potential opportunities.
The “Secret” is silly.
